Ah, Scotland. It was named top tourist destination for 2013 by CNN, has the biggest arts festival in the world in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, is crammed with battle sites, old castles, crags, mountain valleys, glens and tiny crofting communities – and has the world’s only malt whisky trail (samples of which we have researchingly included in our liquor cabinet).
