For those who make it through winter by planning next summer, there’s been good news recently with some big name confirmations for next year’s festivals. Many top bands have been booked for some of the big British festivals including T in the Park, Reading, Leeds and Download.
Here’s a quick overview of confirmed acts, as well as details of where you can stay nearby:
T in the Park: Scottish singer Emeli Sande was announced last week as playing at T in the Park, which runs from 12-14 July. The festival will be headlined by Mumford & Sons, Rihanna and The Killers.
Download: Mastodon were confirmed as an act at the Donnington Park festival on 13 December, which will also feature Iron Maiden, Rammstein, Queens of the Stone Age and Motorhead. Download runs from 14-16 June.
Reading and Leeds: Eminem has just been confirmed as the first main headline act for the twin festivals running over the weekend of 23-25 August, twelve years after he first headlined the festival in 2001.
Bloodstock Open Air: Slayer were recently confirmed as headliners for the Derbyshire metal concert, running from 8-11 August in Derybshire. They’ll headline on the Sunday night, with King Diamond and Lamb of God headlining on the Friday and Saturday nights respectively. Other confirmed acts include Anthrax and Ex Deo.
End of the Road: Sigur Ros and Belle & Sebastian were last week the first acts to be confirmed for this old-school Wiltshire festival from 30 August-1 September. Both acts will headline over the weekend.
