If you’re planning a holiday in Scarborough, we salute your taste – it's the seaside capital of North Yorkshire and was Britain’s first ever seaside resort. So there’s sand and sea galore, seaside amusements and clambering up the cliffs to Scarborough Castle…but also more sophisticated fare such as Italian gardens, mock naval battles at Peasholm Park and even Britain’s only remaining seaside orchestra. The famous Stephen Joseph Theatre is here too, and we think you’ll dig the geology haven of the Rotunda Museum. And speaking of fare, make sure and head to the harbour to the fish market for some freshly caught Scarborough seafood.
Scarborough’s a famously family-friendly place, and whichever Scarborough holiday park or campsite you stay at, there’ll be enough to do to keep the kids busy (and tired), with adventure centres, play centres and Flamingo Land theme park and zoo among loads of family attractions nearby. For day trips, York, the Yorkshire coast and the North Yorkshire Moors are a quick drive away.
