As we’ve rhapsodised countless times (we’re nothing if not consistent) seaside resorts and the British coast are among the best parts of holidaying in the UK. And when the resort is an award winner, it makes our heads spin slightly less when trying to pick a coastal spot in which to settle down for a week or two. Which is why we reckon a St Ives campsite or holiday park is a safe bet, as the Cornish town picked up the accolade of Best Seaside Town in 2010 and 2011, and it has four beaches with several more within easy reach.
We sometimes rhapsodise about artsy stuff too – not always limited to building elaborate sandcastles – so we’re a tad chuffed to point out that St Ives has this alongside its sand and scenery: it’s the arty corner of Cornwall and has the famous gallery Tate St Ives with regular family events and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden.
