Booking a Tenby holiday park or campsite? Pack the fishing rod – the Welsh name of the Pembrokeshire seaside resort translates as ‘little town of the fishes’ and there are endless opportunities to bag a catch, including sea fishing trips, shore fishing or reeling them in from the Tenby harbour wall. If you can’t get the kids interested, do your fishing at the nearby Llys-y-Fran Country Park and Reservoir, where they can let off steam at the park’s adventure playground, or join them at the adventure park Folly Farm, named Best Family Day Out in Wales.
Or just pack the family up and take them to the beach: the sandy stretches of the North, South and Castle beaches at Tenby have all been awarded Blue Flags for water quality and safety, with a play park and skate park at South Beach. For a more villagey vibe, sandy Saundersfoot is a few miles along the coast.
