Lazio's Fondi is a place to be fond of. Let the ways be counted… it's niftily set between Rome and Naples for starts, has an ancient history (excellent) and is on the lush Italian coast: most excellent indeed.
If this sounds something to be fond of, settle down a short drive from Fondi city at Camping Village Settebello, so close to this part of coast that the campsite has direct access to the sea. It's a scenic place surrounded by greenery, and so this is yet another occasion when we exhort you to refer to the site pics…
Settebello has a large outdoor pool, with sun loungers and deck chairs around it and a sports court close by. There's an on-site bar for quick bites, ice cream or breakfasts, a grocery shop, a tobacconist and a handsome restaurant serving local and trad Italian dishes, pizzas and seafood platters: again, we exhort you to refer to the pics.
Amenities-wise, Settebello comes with three large toilet blocks with hot water and free showers; access for disabled guests is also available in one of the facilities blocks.
And if you're fond of entertainment, you're sorted, as the site team organises it regularly during high season and every weekend in low season.

Coming from the north: follow the A1 to Naples, come off at Frosinone and continue on the SS156 towards Ceccano/Priverno/Terracina. Take the Terracina-Prossedi and continue on the Appia SS7. Drive towards Sperlonga/Gaeta/Napoli until your find Camping Village Settebello on your right.
From Rome take the Pontina and drive towards Terracina up to Fondi and then to Salto di Fondi.
Local attractions
Camping Village Settebello is in excellent locale in Lazio, by the sea and a short drive from the city centre of Fondi, an ancient place filled with piazzas, medieval alleys, shops, a fourteenth century castle and Roman remains – the city was once a major stop on the Via Appia between Rome and regional Italy. And we must of course point out that there's a goldy glistening nine-kilometre beach just outside town too.
Lying to the southwest of Fondi and on the edge of the Pontine Marshes is Sperlonga, another coastal must with an esteemed and long old past (the emperor Tiberius lived in a villa here, we think when he felt a tad too unpopular for Rome). Like pretty much most of the coast around here, the views are rather spesh, as are the many seafood restaurants and the cracking beach stretching to the town's west all the way to Terracina.
Terracina and its temples are also well worth a stop: if you like Roman around ancient Italian history, also take time to wander around the town piazza which was once the Roman forum, and if you want yet more views, climb the massive Roman terraces in town for splendid sights over the coast and the Pontine Marshes.
