Seaside rock? Head to Hunstanton. While the kids will no doubt caperingly expect sticks of tooth-rotting stuff, seaside rock along this chunk of Norfolk coast should mean staring at its ancient red cliffs atopped by white chalk, which look like giant sweeties to us and which should be considered for quite some time while on the beach with a picnic. (Buy the kids Norfolk seaside rock too if you’re feeling kind.)
As might be apparent from the above, Hunstanton is a seaside town. The main one on the west Norfolk coast, actually, and the only town on the east coast to face west (do keep up, and watch out for the sunsets). And there’s oh so much to do on a Hunstanton camping break as well as cliff gazing and beach basking… look out to The Wash, where King John allegedly lost the Crown Jewels (careless), or hit the aquarium and seal sanctuary, or saunter from new to old town, or hook up to the Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path passing through here to Cromer… All our campsites for Hunstanton and its surrounds have details of local walks and bike routes, maps and – a sweet sweet thang when out and about on the hoof – details of pubs along the way.
