The hapless shark hunters in Jaws should have taken advice from the residents of Looe: the south-east Cornwall town is a dab hand at shark fishing and the Shark Angling Club of Great Britain has its base here. Take a boat out with the shark catchers or one of the other local fishing companies to land toothy types, mackerel and whopping conger eels, or sample local Looe from the comfort of a pub or restaurant instead: award winning ice-cream and Cornish pasties for starters, which you could try mixing if you’re so inclined.
For walking it all off, Looe campsites are within a stroll of the South West Coast Path with its stretch from Looe to Polruan and there’s a twelve-mile walk from Looe to Fowey – more Cornish pasties can and should be packed for fortification en route...
