Static caravan holidays
Still saving up for your own swish static caravan? Haven't quite got round to buying that enormous family tent? No problem, we say, just go to a static caravan site instead.
Static caravans - the clue's in the name - are caravans which stay at a park permanently and which normally come fully equipped and heated, all set for you and yours to have a caravan park holiday with the minimum of fuss. Which is the best type of holiday, we find. Most static caravan parks also include pitches for touring caravans and tents, so there should be plenty of facilities on the site itself, especially if you book a static caravan at one of the big family holiday parks.
Caravans on offer for hire throughout the country are well beyond the rickety, chilly cramped tin boxes you might remember from your childhood holidays. Some come with three bedrooms and sleep up to eight people, and many will have additional features such as TVs, wifi access and linen, gas and electricity included in your pitch price.
Youll find static caravan sites anywhere there are holidaymakers, so whether you want to roam about on Exmoor or Dartmoor, go sailing or caving in Somerset, explore the Jurassic Coast, Lake District, Peak District or book a caravan holiday in France or Spain, it should be simple to find somewhere static to stay. It's alo a cinch to start off a browse of all our static caravan sites, then filter by date, user review, price and dozens of filters, such as static caravan sites with a swimming pool or a kids' club. A few from our listings:
Woodview Campsite, Cornwall

Drumroamin Farm Camping and Caravan Site, Dumfries and Galloway
Tis easy to be dun roamin' at this Scottish site, where the holiday homes have eye-watering views over Wigtown Bay and the Galloway Hills. Drumroamin is within walking distance of the RSPB reserve Crook of Baldoon and five miles from Scotland's 'book capital' Wigtown.
Camping Port de Plaisance, Brittany

The two-bedroom holiday homes have fully-equipped kitchens and wooden deck with sun loungers.
If you need additional inspiration, filter your search according to leisure on site or nearby, or have a look at the 'Local attractions' tab on the site listing to see all that's available around the area (look to the left of the main listing to see festivals and events comin up in the area). And with our caravan sites that are open all year, you can seek a static any time you need to flee, right now. Which is also the best type of holiday, we find...
