Police seek caravan arsonists in Runcorn

Police in Runcorn have urged caravan owners in the area to be vigilant about security, after three caravans were set alight and gutted in what look to be deliberate attacks.
Caravans were set alight outside homes in Castle Rise and Brookfield Avenue, with another burnt in Sewell Street alongside an empty property in Castlefields Avenue West. All three incidents happened between 10pm and 11pm in recent weeks, with police believing that the blazes are part of a wider campaign.
Runcorn Neighbourhood Policing Unit PC Tom Callow said: ‘Residents are reminded to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to police immediately.
‘Residents with caravans parked near their home are urged to ensure any valuables are removed and to remove items such as gas canisters.’
There have also been reports of caravan arson attacks in Brighton, where police have again asked caravan owners to remain vigilant.
