Camping in Andalucia? Pack the sunscreen. The southern Spanish region is the most scorchio area in Europe (and the most populous in Spain, so you’re sure to find plenty of other adventurers to sample the sun and sangria with). Serious sun seekers can sizzle most around Córdoba and Andalucia’s capital Seville, the sunniest spots in Spain, but we suspect you’ll be able to build up your tan anywhere in the region: both the Mediterranean and Atlantic sides regularly see the mercury rising in the summer and have sunshine most days of the year. We like.
All slathered up? Andalucia has over 800km of coastline to explore and lie around on – you’ll find family beaches, nudist beaches, watersports beaches and beaches with ancient ruins to tickle your fancy – and activities away from the coast to keep the whole family sunny-natured: the museums of Málaga, the famous cathedral of Seville (the biggest in the world), and family days out such as the theme park Isla Magica, the BioPark at Fuengirola and getting subterranean at the Rio Tinto mining park.
